BAIKAL — “ANTIBODY”: A Cinematic Descent from the French Post-Metal Underground

French post-metal project BAIKAL — formed by former members of Uneven Structure and Cult Of Occult — release lead single ‘ANTIBODY’ from their self-titled debut album on Araki Records.

BAIKAL is a French project formed by former members of Uneven Structure and Cult Of Occult. The band moves through a cinematic, constantly shifting soundscape where post-metal, trip hop, doom, shoegaze and dark ambient electronics converge into a single immersive language.

Their self-titled debut album, released in September 2025 via Araki Records, unfolds across eight tracks as a cohesive long-form journey — closer in spirit to a single sustained composition than a conventional collection of songs.

Lead single “ANTIBODY”, taken from the debut, distills the record's identity: crushing post-metal riffs, atmospheric textures, haunting melodies and immersive vocals that set the tone for the album's cinematic and deeply atmospheric approach.

For fans of Deftones, Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Cult of Luna, Godflesh, Ulver, Bohren & der Club of Gore, Portishead and Amenra.
